Samsung Galaxy S9 – Latest Generation Processor

The Samsung Galaxy S9 will be released next year with the latest generation processors manufactured by Samsung and Qualcomm for the smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy S9 is to be launched by the Samsung company with the latest generation processors developed both by it and by those from Qualcomm. We are talking here about processors produced using an 8nm manufacturing process, the Samsung Galaxy S9 going to enjoy technologies that could not be offered in the Samsung Galaxy S8.

In order for the Samsung Galaxy S9 to be able to enjoy such a technological advance, it is necessary for both Samsung and Qualcomm to complete their chip production technologies. This will happen next year, and both companies will offer chips for the Samsung Galaxy S9 produced using 7nm and 8nm manufacturing processes, respectively.

At the moment, the Samsung Galaxy S8 has a chip produced using a 10nm manufacturing process, bringing high performance and better autonomy, but the Samsung Galaxy S9 will have a more advanced technology. For the Exynos chips, those from Samsung already have the technology ready for the Samsung Galaxy S9, and those from Qualcomm have a more advanced and better one.

Samsung would have even wanted to use chips produced using a 7nm manufacturing process in the Samsung Galaxy S9, but it did not have the technology ready yet. If the Samsung Galaxy S9 had a processor produced with such a manufacturing process, then the technological advance in terms of performance and autonomy would be a very big one.

Although those from Samsung do not have the technology ready, Qualcomm does, and TSMC will produce these chips, but most likely they will not end up in the Samsung Galaxy S9 next year. Samsung has to offer very close performance and autonomy for all the Samsung Galaxy S9 models it sells, and having processors made with 8nm and 7nm will present multiple problems.

"Samsung is expected to use the eight-nanometer manufacturing technology for the next-generation Exynos chip for the S9 as it is still preparing for the seven-nanometer production. In the meantime, TSMC, which will make the next Snapdragon chip for Qualcomm, plans to use the seven-nanometer technology that is considered more energy and cost effective than the eight-nanometer technology."

Samsung is trying to substantially increase the performance of the Samsung Galaxy S9 compared to the current model, which was not able to complete an iPhone 7 launched 6 months before it. Those from Samsung know that they have problems with the performance of the products they sell, so in the Samsung Galaxy S9 they intend to solve the problem to offer users only the best.
