Vodafone - the new president Murielle Lorilloux

Vodafone, the third mobile phone operator in Romania in terms of number of customers, is going to have a new president, Murielle Lorilloux being his name. Murielle Lorilloux is currently the president of Vodafone Congo, yes you read that right, and she will be the successor of Ravinder Takkar, who does not seem to have been able to reverse the downward trend the operator is on.

Murielle Lorilloux comes from Congo to save Vodafone in Romania, and she will take over her position as president starting on September 1 of this year. In the position she will occupy from that date, Murielle Lorilloux will have as her direct boss Ahmed Essam, president of Vodafone's Europa Cluster division, so she will have to do a better job than her predecessor.

Ravinder Takkar will remain president of Vodafone's board of directors until September 1, then he will become president of the Group Services division, regional Business Development, within Vodafone. In his new position, the former president of Vodafone in Romania will take care to manage the company's interests in India, but also to help develop businesses in Africa, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.

Vodafone - the new president Murielle Lorilloux

vodafone-president-murielle-lorillouxThe new president of Vodafone Romania, Murielle Lorilloux, has been part of the group since 2013, when she became Chief Commercial Officer in Congo and then president of the subsidiary there. In Congo, Murielle Lorilloux managed to position Vodafone on the local mobile telephony market, having a market share 15 percentage points higher than that of its direct competitors.

In Congo, Murielle Lorilloux made sure that Vodafone offers the best customer experience, being placed in the first position in a study of this kind, so she has a lot of work to do in Romania. Practically, Murielle Lorilloux was very successful in developing Vodafone's business in Congo, but on the Romanian market she is entering a completely different environment and will probably have to adapt quickly.

"Murielle Lorilloux, CEO of Vodacom from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), has been appointed CEO of Vodafone Romania, starting September 1, 2017, a position from which she will report to Ahmed Essam, CEO Europe Cluster. She will replace Ravinder Takkar, who will take over as President of Vodafone Group Services, Regional Business Development"

In recent years, Vodafone has massively lost customers to Digi Mobil, which they allow to use their national mobile phone network through national roaming. It will be interesting to see if the new president Murielle Lorilloux will maintain this agreement between Vodafone and Digi Mobil, or will decide to interrupt it, and from here those from RCS & RDS will have a lot to lose.

The change at the management level within Vodafone comes only a year after Orange went through a similar change, so now we have to see something more at Telekom, where things are going worse.
