iPhone 8 – Apple is still working on Touch ID

iPhone 8 has not yet finalized the specifications regarding the implementation of Touch ID, Apple having until August to decide on its integration.

iPhone 8 not yet completed all the technical specifications, because Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), he is still working on the integration of Touch ID under the screen of his future smartphone. We are talking about a period of several weeks in which the Apple company will either integrate Touch ID under the iPhone 8 screen, or will have to completely abandon its implementation in order to be able to launch the smartphone on markets around the world.

iPhone 8 will not be launched with Touch ID in the case, according to what was suggested today by analysts, the Apple company looking for a solution that would allow the implementation of the fingerprint reader in the screen. If Apple fails to complete this implementation by August, then it would completely abandon Touch ID to replace this system with one for facial recognition and/or iris scanning.

iPhone 8 has been rumored since last week as being prepared for launch by Apple without having Touch ID integrated somewhere, but of course the decision is not yet final. Apple must decide by August what it will do with Touch ID for the iPhone 8, because then the necessary chips to support the functionality of this component in the terminal would also go into production.

iPhone 8 – Apple is still working on Touch ID

The iPhone 8 could still be released without Touch ID, unless Apple wants to delay the release of the iPhone 8, as the product could arrive later than we expected anyway. If Apple will only decide in August what it will do with Touch ID, then the launch of iPhone 8 could only take place in October or November, at least one month after the period when most fans are waiting for its appearance.

The iPhone 8 without Touch ID should have an excellent facial recognition system, or perhaps one for iris recognition. Apple allows the use of Touch ID for a variety of very important functions, including mobile payments, so the iPhone 8 must have a very well developed biometric system, otherwise Apple risks making a laughing stock in front of the whole world if it is not sure enough.

"... if Apple is able to solve its fingerprint problems and place orders for fingerprint ICs before August, it would likely be able to reach volume production in late October or early November. Abandon the fingerprint sensor entirely and rely solely on facial recognition for login and authentication. This option appears increasingly likely as time passes, but is far from ideal."

The iPhone 8 currently has some components in production, while the start of production for those supporting the Touch ID functionality is expected by August. To be completely honest, it would not be excluded that new surprises appear in the next period, so it remains to be seen how much of everything known so far about the iPhone 8 will remain valid in August.

iPhone 8 should be presented in September, and the launch could take place in November at the latest.
