Apple and Coachlear launch the first Hearing Aid for iPhone

Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), and Coachlear, one of the most well-known manufacturers of hearing aids, announced today the launch of such a product that was specially created to be compatible with iPhone. This complex hearing aid, which is actually an implant, can pick up the sounds emitted by the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, it needs to be placed inside the ear, so we are talking about an operation that needs to be done, it is dedicated to people who have lost almost total hearing.

Separate from the implant, there is also another external device that must be placed in the ear to pick up all the sounds, and the entire control system for it is offered through an iPhone application. This implant has a latest generation Nucleus 7 Sound Processor, which allows those who almost cannot hear at all to make phone calls, or listen to music and movies, things that normal hearing aids do not help them to do.

This hearing implant was developed by the two companies specifically for the iPhone and that's why there are so many options available for it. Moreover, iOS is able to communicate with the implant thanks to the support implemented by Apple, this hearing aid being, most likely, the most advanced of all those currently on the market.

Apple has always emphasized accessibility features that help those with visual and hearing impairments to lead as normal a life as possible. This new hearing aid is just confirmation that Apple is willing to invest time and resources to create products that change people's lives, and in September we will definitely see a presentation made for the implant.

"The approval of the Nucleus 7 Sound Processor is a turning point for people with hearing loss, opening the door for them to make phone calls, listen to music in high-quality stereo sound, watch videos and have FaceTime calls streamed directly to their Cochlear implant. This new sound processor builds on our long-standing commitment to help more people with hearing loss connect with others and live a full life."
