iPhone X – Apple Talks about Touch ID

iPhone X has a very old rumor explained by the Apple company, those from Cupertino discussing the implementation of Touch ID in the new premium phone.

iPhone X was launched by the Apple company without integrated Touch ID, those from Cupertino choosing instead to implement Face ID, a facial recognition system that should be much more advanced. Despite the implementation Face ID in the iPhone X, many rumors suggested that Apple even developed a version of the phone that had a fingerprint reader in the case to offer Touch ID further.

iPhone X with Touch ID in the case would have looked very ugly, because apart from the cutout, there would also have been a hole in the case where we had to look for a button, and Apple didn't want to have such a problem on its head. Those from Apple claim that they have never even developed a version of the iPhone X that has Touch ID in the case, the statement being surprising and indirectly false, but this is not a surprise.

iPhone X would have been thought from the very beginning with Face ID, and Apple would not have wasted a single moment developing a version of the phone that had Touch ID in the case, according to a vice president of the company. Although it is possible that Apple has not developed a model of the iPhone X with Touch ID in the case, it is impossible for me to believe that prototypes of phones that have the fingerprint reader in that location have not been made.

The iPhone X was released long after phones had in-body fingerprint readers, so Apple certainly tested the implementation before starting to produce the phone. It is impossible for me to believe that Apple did not at some point test the implementation of Touch ID in the case of any iPhone model, even if for the iPhone X "it did not waste a moment" in trying to do this.

"I heard some rumor [that] we couldn't get Touch ID to work through the glass so we had to remove that. So we spent no time looking at fingerprints on the back or through the glass or on the side because if we did those things, which would be a last-minute change, they would be a distraction relative to enabling the more important thing that we were trying to achieve, which was Face ID done in a high-quality way."

iPhone X should have in Face ID the perfect replacement for Touch ID, but the first reviews do not present the new system in a very good light, but we are talking about truncated impressions of the reviewers. The Apple company did not allow testers to test the iPhone X for too long periods of time, so no one can provide a complete picture of the phone, but is that how Apple wants the situation to be?

iPhone X with Face ID represents a step forward made by Apple, from my point of view, because fingerprint scanning technology had to evolve into something, and facial recognition is that evolution. I think Face ID in iPhone X will be improved as more and more people start using it, but I'm also pretty sure that the first experiences with the system will be terrible.
