Apple: BIG Changes for iPhone and iOS Design

Apple is preparing a series of major changes for iOS and iPhone design, the American company hiring many engineers in recent months.

According to a website that monitors vacancies within the Apple company, no less than 70 positions have been opened in the design teams in the last three months.

Apple has recently hired a lot of engineers in the teams that develop iOS and iPhone, so there is major interest in improving the way the phones and the operating system look. Recently, there have been a lot of criticisms regarding the design of iOS, or even the iPhone, and those from Apple seem to have taken note of them and are trying to make a change.

Although Apple is constantly hiring talented people, the number of open jobs in the design teams is unusually high, even for those in Cupertino. Basically, this attracted the attention of those who monitor the evolution of available jobs at various companies in Silicon Valley, Apple seems to be the one that employs the most designers now.

"Apple began hiring designers in October, with openings jumping from an average of 40 or less to a peak of 70 new openings January 12, 2018. Normally, this wouldn't be too big of a deal – Apple hires designers and engineers all the time. But in this case, the uptick is severe, and the job titles are telling."

This increase in the positions available for design teams could also be related to the fact that Jony Ive has finished his work with Apple Park and is focusing again on iPhone, iPad, Mac and iOS. No one knows what will happen after these hires, but it is very likely that Apple will bring major design changes to the iPhone and iOS in the coming years.
