E-ALERT it was launched during a testing period by the Romanian authorities in the middle of the previous month, but unfortunately only Android phones are compatible with the Cell Broadcast system at the moment. The Romanian authorities have explained very clearly that RO-ALERT will only send messages via Cell Broadcast to a range of compatible phones, and the iPhone is not among them, but this will change very soon.
RO-ALERT has been announced by the Romanian authorities to offer iPhone compatibility starting in December, a clear date not being announced by the Romanian authorities for now. I have already told you several times that the iPhone is not compatible with the RO-ALERT system to receive warnings through the Cell Broadcast system because Apple must implement this support through an update of the iOS operating system, so things are not simple.

RO-ALERT will be able to send Cell Broadcast messages on the iPhone in December after Apple releases iOS 12.1, or maybe even iOS 12.2, in the meantime the implementation of the support will most likely be required by the Romanian authorities. Without Apple and the Romanian authorities collaborating to implement compatibility with RO-ALERT for the iPhone, it is impossible for these phone models to receive the warnings that the Romanian authorities send.

RO-ALERT is still in full testing process, the Romanian authorities stating that the system was received with mixed reactions from the Romanians, some complaining about the fact that they receive the respective messages on their own mobile phones. After RO-ALERT will become compatible including with the iPhone, I am quite sure that a new round of testing the system will be initiated, in order to ensure that all Romanians receive messages including on these phone models, but that only in December, with safety before the holidays.
