iPhone XR. WEAK Sales and REDUCED Production

iPhone XR. Weak sales and reduced production are recorded for Apple's new phone, here's what decision the company made following the low demand.

iphone xr poor sales

iPhone XR. The launch of Apple's new smartphone model does not seem to have gone as well as the Americans imagined, and the first information regarding the demand for the phone shows a very bad situation. More precisely, iPhone XR sales would be so bad that Apple would have announced to its partners in China that a planned increase in production for the phone will no longer be respected, so there is not a high enough demand for the series.

iPhone XR. Foxconn would produce only 100.000 units of the phone daily, on 45 production lines, an increase to 60 lines being planned, but it seems that there is no demand for such a large production, for now. Production for the iPhone XR would be 20% - 25% lower than the one initially anticipated, the Apple company being forced to comply with a much lower interest than expected for its new colored phone models.

iPhone XR. WEAK Sales and REDUCED Production

iPhone XR. Apple had also discussed with those from Pegatron and Wistron to take over part of the production for its new phone model, but it seems that it will no longer turn to this partner due to poor sales. Interestingly, Apple increased the production of iPhone 5 and iPhone 8 Plus by 8 million units after it was noticed that there was not much demand for iPhone XR, and this shows that the world still prefers its old phone models.

"For the Foxconn side, it first prepared nearly 60 assembly lines for Apple's XR model, but recently uses only around 45 production lines as its top customer said it does not need to manufacture that many by now. That means Foxconn would produce around 100,000 fewer units daily to reflect the new demand outlook — down 20% to 25% from the original optimistic outlook. Fellow Taiwanese manufacturer Pegatron faces a similar situation, suspending plans to ramp up production and awaiting further instructions from Apple. Apple also had asked smaller iPhone assembler Wistron to stand by for rush orders, but supply chain sources say the company will receive no orders for the iPhone XR this holiday season."

iPhone XR. This information, which comes directly from Apple's partners, directly contradicts information published last week by American analysts who claimed that Apple is very successful with this new series of phones. Now it remains for everyone to believe whatever they want about the success of the iPhone XR series, but from my point of view, the information coming from Apple's partners should enjoy greater credibility.
