Why Apple is Leaving Old iPhones WITHOUT a GREAT iOS 13 Feature

Here's why Apple will leave older iPhone models without a great feature that was announced for release starting with iOS 13.2.

Why Apple is Leaving Old iPhones WITHOUT a GREAT iOS 13 Feature

Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), announced last night that starting with iOS 13.2 will give the phones in the series iPhone 11 a new function called Deep Fusion, which will allow the recording of very, very good quality pictures. Apple has lagged behind Samsung and Huawei in terms of using artificial intelligence for great photos, and with iOS 13.2 it will change that, but only on iPhone 11 series phones, and that's about it.

Officially, those from Apple say that Deep Fusion requires a lot of processing power, and only the new A13 chip is fast enough to make all the necessary changes for photos to use this technology. It is true that the new A13 chip has more processing power than the A12, but how much is really needed to use Deep Fusion technology, no one knows because Apple has not detailed this.

iOS 13.2 brings Deep Fusion only to the iPhone 11 series

Unofficially, it's all about marketing, that is, Apple wants to give people reasons to buy the iPhone 11 series, not the older models, so it doesn't bring Deep Fusion for iPhones released in previous years. To be completely honest, I don't think that Apple could not offer the Deep Fusion function for the old iPhone models, at least in the case of the iPhone XS series, which has processor power, I think, that is big enough to run it.

At least the phones from the iPhone XS series should have offered Deep Fusion for recording photos, but those from Apple want to offer it exclusively for the iPhone 11, and the new cameras, even if everything could be applied to 2 cameras. Apple says it uses all three cameras for Depp Fusion in iOS 13.2, but if it wanted to, it could have thought of everything for two cameras, or even just one, Google achieving something similar with a single camera.
