The Ministry of Health announced today a record number of new cases for Romania, but unfortunately it also comes with a record number of deaths, the authorities warning that we will also end up in this situation, and the daily number of deaths has already set two records this week.

The Ministry of Health announced today 50 deaths among those infected with the new Coronavirus, the figure being the highest since the start of the pandemic, and up to now, and unfortunately we can expect further increases in the next period.

"Until today, 2.616 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died.

Between 06.08.2020 (10:00) and 07.08.2020 (10:00) 50 deaths (31 men and 19 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in hospitals in Alba, Arad, Argeș were recorded , Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brăila, Brașov, Cluj, Dâmbovița, Galati, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Prahova, Sibiu, Timiș, Vâlcea, Vaslui, Ilfov and the City of Bucharest.

Of these, 4 deaths were registered in the age category 40-49 years, 4 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 11 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 17 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 14 deaths in the over 80 category.

All 50 registered deaths are of patients who had comorbidities."
