Huawei: The decision with which it took a lot of the world by surprise

Huawei is a giant in the IT industry, having products from the most varied fields, and at the end of July the company announced a decision that took many people by surprise, specifically its P50 series was announced for launch without integrated 5G technology.

Huawei is one of the global leaders in the development of 5G technology, having a variety of products that are based on this technology, but the sanctions imposed by the US forced the Huawei company to abandon the implementation of 5G support in the P50 series phones.

Huawei said, through the voice of CEO Richard Yu, that although it managed to buy the latest generation components to provide 4G connectivity for its phones, unfortunately the US sanctions blocked the possibility of benefiting from 5G support in them.

Huawei surprised a lot of people with its decision not to integrate 5G in phones, but if we are realistic, 5G networks are still far from common, so most people still rely on 3G, 4G, or even weaker connections for phone calls and internet.

“Due to US sanctions, our new smartphones cannot run on 5G wireless connections, even though we are certainly the global leader in 5G technology. But with 4G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6 and our AI computing algorithms, we can still deliver performance as strong as all 5G phones. Every time we introduce the P series, we lead a new trend in the smartphone industry.”

Huawei has time to find solutions to provide 5G connectivity to the phones it sells worldwide, and even if the P50 series will not have support for such connections, future models could come with 5G support worldwide.
