The iPhone 6S will have 2GB of DDR 4 RAM

The iPhone 6S will have 2 GB of DDR 4 RAM according to some sources inside the Apple company, the device will offer better performance than the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

iPhone 6S 2 GB RAM

iPhone 6S It will be released by the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), in the fall of this year, but until then we will find out almost everything it will contain, and today a new rumor confirms that the device will have 2 GB DDR 4 RAM. The information comes from an Asian publication, which managed to talk to sources inside Apple's distribution chain, who confirm the intentions of those from Cupertino.

According to this source, at the end of last year the Apple company was undecided whether to use 2 GB DDR 3 or DDR 4 RAM due to the price difference between the models, but also the limited availability of the units of the latter model. At the moment, DDR 4 RAM modules are 35% more expensive than DDR 3 RAM models, but Apple seems to have found partners willing to seriously reduce prices.

The iPhone 6S will have 2GB of DDR 4 RAM

Last year it was speculated that Hynix would supply 50% of the total RAM modules needed for the iPhone 6S, Samsung being responsible for 30% of the production and Micron-Elpida for 20% of the production. At that time, Micron was not sure if it would be able to perfect the production process of these models and Apple did not know if it would have enough components for the iPhone 6S, but in the meantime the problems were solved.

In this idea, Apple made the decision to choose the use of DDR 4 or LPDDR4 RAM modules iPhone 6S, these offer a significant performance boost compared to the current DDR 3 modules. According to the performance tests carried out so far, the DDR 4 RAM doubles the transfer speeds to a maximum of 34 GB/s, consuming as little energy as the DDR RAM modules 3.

Now no one can say for sure what Apple's plans will be, but I'm sure we'll see 2 GB of RAM, no matter what modules Apple will use. The iPad Air 2 has 2 GB of RAM and offers very good performance for users, and Apple will want to offer exactly the same thing for owners of iPhone terminals starting this year, so I am firmly convinced that we will see 2 GB of RAM in the terminal.
