RCS & RDS announced during this day the completion of an investment project worth over 2 million euros, allowing the connection of the most important cities in Romania through redundant links of 100 Gbps.
Thanks to this project, those from RCS & RDS they made the transition from links representing a multiple of 10 Gbps to links representing a multiple of 100 Gbps, Bucharest being linked with their help to Iasi, Oradea, Timisoara and Budapest to improve data transfer.
More than a year ago, RCS & RDS launched the first internet access subscriptions with speeds of 1 Gbps, motivating its customers to activate them with very low prices for this type of connections, the data traffic made in the network increasing in consequence.
The evolution of the RCS & RDS network to multiple 100 Gbps links will streamline data traffic in the network and facilitate the transfer of data from Europe at higher speeds than until now, all without users having to make any changes to their subscriptions.

RCS & RDS are migrating to superior 100Gbps technologies for their own data transport network
RCS & RDS announces today, December 24, 2015, the completion of the national and international network modernization project by moving from multiple 10Gbps to multiple 100Gbps capacities. Thus, five important nodes of the company's network were connected with the help of multiple, redundant, 100Gbps links: Bucharest, Timisoara, Iasi, Oradea and Budapest.
This implementation will improve the quality of service provision, increase network capacity and ensure a significant increase in bandwidth to support services that require intense and stable traffic for the latest generation services and applications.

The implementation of the project took place during half a year and required investments in technology and equipment worth over 2,2 million euros and will allow the operator to ensure top internet access speeds in the future.

RCS & RDS currently offers the fastest and most stable fixed internet connections in Romania, at prices between 29 lei/month (VAT included) and 55 lei/month (VAT included).
