If you are used to walking on cables connected to TV yours, the decoder installed by the CATV service provider or other gadgets that you have connected to the TV, you should still be careful because you risk burning all your products.
Today I present to you the story of an editor of The Verge, who had the unfortunate surprise of realizing that his coaxial cable was transmitting electricity and managed to burn two of his televisions, plus the decoder installed by the cable television service provider.
In the animation below you can see one of the technicians testing the problem on the equipment in the customer's house, the electric shock being quite large and it seems that in the middle was one of the rivets used to mount the cable in the wall, it perforating the insulation and interrupting the grounding .
Problems of this kind can appear anywhere and at any time, and if you happen to discover that you have a cable of this kind that does not have the grounding done correctly, it would be good to call a technician to solve the problem, otherwise you risk being electrocuted and destroyed electronic equipment in the house.
