Windows 10 Copies a Useful Apple Function

Windows 10 will copy another useful feature that Apple implemented in iOS and macOS for Mac and iDevice users around the world.

Windows 10 will copy a very useful new function of the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),, after previously copying some very good functions that the Americans have integrated both in iOS, as well as in macOS. This time, however, we are talking about the implementation in Windows 10 of a function similar to that of AirDrop available for iPhone, iPad and Mac, which allows the quick transfer of files using a Wi-Fi connection.

Windows 10 will have this function integrated under the name NearShare, being currently tested by the Microsoft company to find out if its offering is viable. Version 17035 of the latest beta build of Windows 10 has it available to those who are part of the beta testing program, so not everyone will be able to use it right now, but soon it will be offered publicly, probably.

Windows 10 will allow computer users to use NearShare to share documents and pictures as long as the computers are close enough to each other. Unlike AirDrop, in the case NearShare from Windows 10 we are not talking about a sharing made using Wi-Fi technology, but Bluetooth technology, so the transfer speeds will probably be much lower.

Windows 10 could also be limited only to pictures or documents, without being able to share video clips, because the transfer time of the files could be too long via Bluetooth, if the files have several GB. Windows 10 users will have the option available in the Notifications Center for the beginning, and when they try to send a file, the person it should reach is notified by the computer.

Windows 10 should also display a list of computers that are able to receive files through the function NearShare, as in the case of AirDrop, and from there the functionality is known to you. The AirDrop function has existed for several years in iDevices/Macs, and its inclusion in Windows 10 is not a surprise, because Microsoft had to offer something like this, even if it does not sell mobile phones, but only tablets.

Last month, Windows 10 received a major update launched by Microsoft, bringing users many new functions, some inspired by iOS. Windows 10 has taken over many useful functions from Mac and iOS, it will continue to do so and computer users will enjoy them, because in the end everyone wins when functions like this end up in more products.
