According to tests carried out by journalists, iPhone X is not recommended for purchase before iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus, occupying the 9th place in a top 10 phones worth buying.
The iPhone X was recommended over the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus due to the fragility shown in a resistance test, even though all three phones have glass cases. The three phones were placed in a drum and rotated 50-100 times to see how well they hold up, and the iPhone X was the only one with the screen and case seriously destroyed, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus having "only" defects for screens.
