iOS 12: IMPORTANT Feature that will NOT be Released in 2018

iOS 12 will not have an important function launched during 2018, the Apple company avoiding to offer it, although it would have brought a new experience even on macOS 10.14.

iOS 12 IMPORTANT Feature Released 2018

iOS 12 had an extremely important function announced for launch in 2018, the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), preparing her for iPhone, iPad and Mac, but it seems that it will only be offered in 2019. We are talking about a function that is also intended for iOS 12 and macOS 10.14, this allows the development of universal applications for iPhone, iPad and Mac, Apple preparing it as one of the most important functions of the operating systems.

iOS 12 will not have this function available in 2019, and it seems that it will not be as great as it was initially thought, that is, it would not be about universal applications for iOS and macOS, but about a kind of universal interfaces. This new functionality from Apple would have solved many problems with the interfaces for iOS 12 and macOS 10.14, but what was initially announced as a revolutionary function, turns out to be something much less interesting.

iOS 12: IMPORTANT Feature that will NOT be Released in 2018

iOS 12 will not have this new functionality, it being postponed for iOS 13 and macOS 10.15, so Apple still needs a lot of time to launch it, this confirming the fact that it is also very complex. It is very complicated to make an interface that also works on iPhone, iPad, or Mac, so Apple wants to simplify the life of developers, as Microsoft did when it allowed the development of universal applications for Windows 10.

"There's nothing inherently cross-platform about a declarative control API. But it makes sense that if Apple believes that (a) iOS and MacOS should have declarative control APIs, and (b) they should address the problem of abstracting the API differences between UIKit (iOS) and AppKit (MacOS), that they would tackle them at the same time. Or perhaps the logic is simply that if they're going to create a cross-platform UI framework, the basis for that framework should be a declarative user interface."

iOS 12 is practically left without the major function that many people were waiting for, and under these conditions it will be interesting to see what Apple will be able to offer for iPhone, iPad and Mac users this year. iOS 12 was presented as an operating system for which not many important functions were thought of, but only problem solving and performance improvements, so it will be interesting to see what will happen.
