Telekom: Official, the Warning for Millions of Customers

Telekom abroad

Telekom is one of the largest and most important telecommunications operators in Romania, at least until the fall, when it will sell its fixed services division to Orange. Until then, Telekom has to take care of millions of customers from all over the country, and for them it has an extremely serious warning that everyone should know about right now because because of it you can end up receiving very high bills, without you know

Telekom warns its customers from all over Romania that an extremely serious problem may affect them, and this is due to a fraud method known as "wangiri". Telekom describes it as a fraud method by which people receive "beeps" from unknown numbers that are meant to tempt them to call back to find out why they were called, generally using international numbers.

Telekom: Official, the Warning for Millions of Customers

Telkom says that the people who answer when we call them after we get the "beep" are trying to convince us to participate in certain contests with big cash prizes, their goal being to make the calls as long as possible. The phone numbers from which these people call are some with surcharges, so that each minute of conversation can cost even a few euros, and the people from Telekom warn us to be very careful and not to call unknown international numbers.

Telekom draws our attention to the fact that we should give greater importance to the component of international numbers that call us, but are not in our contact book. More precisely, we are advised not to call anything that does not have a Romanian prefix because there is a chance that it is a number with a surcharge that could substantially increase our bill, and in this situation Telekom would not be able to help us much a lot.

Telekom comes with this recommendation because there were probably enough Romanians who were deceived by these fraud methods, and probably many had large bills to pay because of them.
