Milky Way: INCREDIBLE Hole Now Discovered in the Galaxy

Third Milky Way

The Milky Way, the galaxy of which the solar system, and implicitly the Earth, is a part, has an incredible discovery, and this is because a hole was observed inside it, for the first time, which until now was not noticed by scientists . More precisely, the researchers discovered a hole in the Milky Way with a diameter of 500 light years, and until now they have not formulated a clear explanation for its existence in that region.

The Milky Way is full of stars and planets, and scientists assume that a few million years ago a star exploded in a supernova event and created this huge hole in our galaxy. This hole in the Milky Way is located between the Taurus and Perseus regions, it being one known for the formation of stars and planets, but for now there is no other explanation for its appearance apart from a supernova type event.

Milky Way: INCREDIBLE Hole Now Discovered in the Galaxy

The Milky Way would have passed through this event approximately 10 million years ago, and the star that exploded would have been very large, and this is because it generated such a large hole in that region of the galaxy. This incredible discovery was made by the people from ESA, the European Space Agency, they managed for the first time to make a 3D map of that region to see everything that happened in the Milky Way millions of years ago.

"Hundreds of stars are forming or already exist on the surface of this giant bubble. We have two theories – either a supernova erupted at the center of this bubble and pushed the gas outwards, forming what we now call the "Perseus-Taurus Supershell", or a series of supernovae occurring over millions of years created in time."

The Milky Way probably records events of this kind with a high frequency in its various regions, but until now scientists have managed to observe for the first time what happens in a situation like this. It is very possible that there are other supernova-type events that have generated problems at least as big in the past in the Milky Way, but space observation instruments have so far failed to show us much about them.

The Milky Way remains in the attention of scientists from all over the world and we will definitely see other observations at least as interesting, so it is possible that other similar areas in the galaxy will be revealed to us.
