NATO Conducted Exercise BALTOPS222 in Collaboration with Sweden

BALTOPS22 is a military exercise that NATO carried out in collaboration with Sweden to simulate a mission to defend the Swedish island of Gotland, which is a very important strategic point for the security of the Baltic Sea, 365 days a year.

The US was in charge of this military exercise that also involved Sweden, a country that has already applied to join NATO, but it remains to be seen whether Turkey will show its support or not.

Practicing the Gotland defense.

Welcome to the Swedish island of Gotland: cold and wet in winter, green and lush in summer, and strategically vital to the security of the Baltic Sea 365 days a year.

That's why NATO and Sweden practiced defending the island during #BALTOPS22, a US-led maritime exercise that saw the US Marine Corps team up with Swedish armed forces.

In the exercise, Swedish soldiers practiced quickly fortifying and defending the island against a simulated enemy, played this year by the United States Marine Corps.

BALTOPS 22 involved forces from 16 countries, with more than 45 ships, more than 75 aircraft and 7.500 personnel participating.
