Pixel – the name of the new Google smartphones

The other day I told you that Google abandons the Nexus brand for its new smartphones to be released on the market in the coming weeks, and now we have a new confirmation of this. According to some sources close to Google, the Americans intend to use the name Pixel for the terminals that will be offered to users.

Google Pixel and Pixel XL will be the names of the two smartphones that will have 5 inch and 5.5 inch screens, the name itself being quite interesting. Both devices should be presented at a conference that could be organized on October 4, and based on the name, they could have great screens or cameras.

Google is trying to distance itself from what it did in the past with its Nexus terminal series, and the Pixel could be a fairly promising new beginning for the company. Apart from the change in branding, those from Google could also change the destination of the devices, as they can be promoted as perfect not only for developers, but also for regular users.

Apart from these, Google's new Pixel smartphones would come with a new Chromecast that has support for 4K content playback. This device could have the name Ultra or Plus, together with it a new virtual reality helmet DayDream VR could be launched, Google announcing it during I/O in May.

Finally, it seems that Google will also announce details about the Google Home project, an attempt to compete with Apple and its HomeKit, which now has a Home application in iOS 10.
