It seems that the Google Pixel 2 simply cannot get rid of the problems affecting its screen at the moment, or at least that seems to be the case. After the burn-in problems, the problems with the units delivered without Android, problems with flashing screens, or which remain without the oleophobic layer, today another problem appeared with the screens.
More precisely, some Google Pixel 2 units delivered to customers do not perceive touches made on the edges of the screen, and the video clip below demonstrates this very well. It is necessary to apply a lot of pressure on the respective portion of the screen for the phone to perceive even a small touch, and this means that interaction there will be almost impossible.
Those from Google say that the problem is a software one and has to do with the system that allows you to squeeze the edges to activate Google Assistant for use. It seems that the Android in the Google Pixel 2 ignores the presses made on those edges too much, the company stating that it will solve the problem with a later update of the operating system.
Meanwhile, all those who bought a Google Pixel 2 from the Google company are forced to remain without the functionality offered by this system because there is no immediate solution.
