Un iPhone 6S who fell from a moving plane survived for 1 year facing the severe weather in Iceland. Not being destroyed by the fall from a height of 60 meters, this iPhone 6S managed to remain functional even if for 13 months it remained unrecovered in the area of a lake in Iceland.
The iPhone 6S phone was lost by a photographer who was doing an aerial tour of the Skaftá River in southern Iceland, an area flooded annually by nearby glaciers. Falling from the plane, the iPhone 6S arrived near a path that those who visit the area use in their adventures through the area, and was discovered by two people.
The photographer was called by them, 13 months after he lost his iPhone 6S, and it was announced that the device had been recovered. After he went to regain possession of the iPhone 6S phone, the man discovered that a simple charge made it functional again, which shows how resistant Apple phones are.
“Last year, photographer Haukur Snorrason went on an aerial photo tour of the Skaftá River in South Iceland to capture images of the annual glacial river floods. Unfortunately, when he grabbed his iPhone to film the flood, the phone was swept away by a gust of wind. Falling 60 meters onto rocky terrain – where a massive river was overflowing and tearing up roads – it was time for Haukur to say goodbye to his phone forever – or so he thought. Or so he thought, until 13 months later, when he got a call from people who had found his phone while hiking. After falling out of a plane and spending over a year exposed to the harsh elements in Iceland, it still worked!”
