ANPC: very IMPORTANT WARNING for all Romanians

ANPC protective masks

ANPC has a very important warning for all Romanians after more and more counterfeit products started arriving on the Romanian market, which are advertised as good for protection against infection with the new Coronavirus, but which in reality do not do this.

ANPC warns Romanians to be very careful about what they buy, and to look carefully at all the markings that appear on the boxes of the respective products to be sure that they are indeed certified by the authorities, and can offer the necessary protection.

"It is quite difficult for an average informed consumer to figure out if a mask or a disinfectant meets all the conditions. First of all, I recommend that the purchase of these products be made from authorized premises, and I mean pharmacies and stores, to keep the receipt with which the product was purchased, to be able to prove it in case of complaints about their quality.

First of all, it must ensure that these products have labels in Romanian, the text must be translated, it must contain elements of information and complete, correct and precise characterization of the product, it must have the mark of the European Commission, of the European Union, which certifies that the respective product complies with classification, labeling and packaging according to European directives.

Also, there must be pictograms or hazard warnings on the label regarding the product's toxicity and flammability. In the case of containers, they must be provided with child safety locking systems. It must also have the expiry date and storage instructions on the label." declared Eduardt Cozminschi.
