Romania still remains "under the sign" of the Coronavirus during this period, a very serious problem that is not ignored by the authorities in Romania, and which must be taken seriously including by the people of the whole country, because thousands of infections are confirmed daily by to the Romanian authorities, unfortunately.

The coronavirus spreads extremely quickly during this period, and this is due to the fact that vaccines do not protect against infection, the Omicron strain is very contagious, and there are no measures to prevent the spread, so we are talking about the perfect conditions for the virus to spread without stopping .

The Romanian authorities say that in the 6th wave of infections detected as having the Coronavirus at the base, there is good news regarding the reduced number of severe cases, in hospitals there are few people hospitalized, both in the normal wards and in the intensive care ones, which which should make us understand that the 7th wave will not be one with many infections.

"In the last 24 hours, 3.600 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, 1.346 more than the previous day. 693 of the new cases in 24 hours are of reinfected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the first infection.

Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 176 people were reconfirmed positive.

In specialized health units, the number of people hospitalized in wards with COVID-19 is 3.975, 235 more than the previous day. Also, 280 people are hospitalized at ATI, 1 less than the previous day. Of the 280 patients admitted to ATI, 247 are unvaccinated.

Of the total admitted patients, 555 are minors, 552 being admitted to wards, 59 more than the previous day, and 3 to ATI, 2 more than the previous day.

Until today, 66.375 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died. Between 15.08.2022 (10:00) and 16.08.2022 (10:00) 18 deaths (8 men and 10 women) were reported by INSP, of which 3 were reported before the reference interval.

In the last 24 hours, 2.288 RT-PCR tests were performed (1.397 based on case definition and medical protocol and 891 on request) and 12.060 rapid antigen tests. Until this date, at the national level, they have been processed
