Coronavirus continues to kill and infect people in China, so drastic measures are now being resorted to to stop its spread, both in China and in other areas of the globe, and they were needed at the moment.

Coronavirus obliges the Chinese authorities to take the decision to withdraw from circulation the old banknotes that the population uses for shopping, some of them to be passed through a cleaning process before being put back into circulation.

Coronavirus brought to Hubei province new banknotes worth a total of 86 billion dollars for the citizens there, and the banks will start distributing them at ATMs for all those who come to withdraw money for their usual purchases.

Coronavirus will be eradicated from the withdrawn banknotes using ultraviolet rays, and after cleaning, the papers will be isolated for 14 days before being put back into circulation, all so that the number of infections is reduced as much as possible in the following period.

"The new coronavirus has restricted millions of Chinese to their homes and cities, and now old bank notes are in quarantine. The government has halted the transfer and allocation of old currency notes in provinces and between cities worst affected by the deadly outbreak."

Coronavirus imposes this measure despite the fact that mobile payment systems are very popular in China, especially WeChat, but the elderly still use banknotes and coins, so the measure mainly targets them.
