Valeriu Gheorghita, the coordinator of the vaccination campaign in Romania, said that 30% of vulnerable people have already been vaccinated against the Coronavirus, which is extremely good news, as the vaccination campaign is mainly intended to protect them.
Valeriu Gheorghita says that at the moment the focus is on vaccinating as many people as possible from all over the country and that this is the only way to reach group immunity, that is, the point where it will be possible to relax almost all restrictions.
"We don't vaccinate numbers, we vaccinate people and, in fact, we protect families in this way, we avoid dramas, this means the herd immunity effect.
In absolute terms, we are talking about almost 700.000 vaccinated people over the age of 65. Including the other categories of vulnerable people, we are talking about over 1.300.000 vaccinated people, which means a percentage of almost 30%, of vulnerable vaccinated people."
