Coronavirus: Success of Vaccines and Importance in Wave 4

Coronavirus Vaccine Success and Importance in Wave 4

Adriana Pistol, director of CNSCBT, speaks in an interview about the success of vaccines in recent years, but also about how important it is for Romanians to immunize themselves in the 4th wave of coronavirus infections that is now spreading throughout Romania.

"We invite you to watch an interview with Mrs. Adriana Pistol, director of the National Center for Surveillance and Control of Communicable Diseases, supported by Andrei Baciu, vice-president of CNCAV and secretary of state at the Ministry of Health.

"The National Vaccination Program is a victim of its own success. In past years, vaccination campaigns were well received by Romanians. The slow, slow disappearance of some diseases, such as polio, which we eliminated from Romania in 2002, vaccinating all children going door-to-door, justifies the reluctance of the population to continue vaccination. What has been constantly necessary to communicate to the population is that these diseases have not completely disappeared, but we have simply reduced their incidence or eliminated them entirely, but any deviation from a vaccination schedule will lead to a susceptible population that will allow these diseases to return among us.” Adriana Pistol"
