P0sixninja is working on an exploited bootloader, the jailbreak for Apple TV 3 is still far away

responding to some comments from several Reddit users, planetbeing explained some of the work that hackers are currently doing to develop security solutions jailbreak. Planetbeing claims that P0sixninja is currently working on the development of a bootloader exploit which could allow exploiting the bootroms of current iDevices, and based on the vulnerabilities discovered there, future solutions could be developed jailbreak, or p0sixninja could get rich.

He's working on a bootloader exploit, to be precise. He hopes to use it to dump the newer bootroms so he can actually look for vulnerabilities there. I've seen it and even helped a bit with it, it's legit, but it has a long ways to go. It's not really even at the proof-of-concept stage yet. Someone would really need to sink a huge chunk of time into it, but no one is that interested yet it looks like.

The problem is that all of P0sixninja's work is still only in the concept stage, the hacker not having anything extremely useful and developing his vulnerabilities requires a lot of work, which no one seems willing to do. Everything p0sixninja has is separate from the exploits of those who develop the current solution untethered jailbreak for iOS 6, so in the future a new jailbreak could come from him. As for the Apple TV 3, unfortunately the jailbreak solution for this device is still far from being ready for launch, so don't get your hopes up.
