iPhone 7S could be more powerful than Xbox One or PS4

iPhone 7S could be more efficient than Xbox One or PS4 if the statements of an ARM company manager turn out to be true, he claims that future mobile terminals will have higher processing power than the current consoles.

Nizar Romadan, the director of the ecosystem division within ARM, claims that chips are currently being developed for mobile terminals that offer more processing power than the existing components in Xbox One or Playstation 4.

He claims that the current mobile terminals are more efficient than the Xbox 360 and older consoles, the games that are currently released on the iOS and Android platforms still not having the graphic quality or complexity of those titles.

Even so, for 2017 the ARM manager claims that we will witness a continuous increase in the processing power that mobile terminal components will offer, so The iPhone 7S could be more powerful than an Xbox One and could run those games better.

Mobile hardware is already powerful. If you take today's high-end smartphone or tablet, the performance is already better than Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It's catching up quickly with Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Although mobile terminals will be more efficient, those from ARM believe that the future lies in the future virtual reality, where the devices are categorized only based on the processing power and not the dimensions, the experience will be identical regardless of the device, as long as the performances are the same.

Our view is that mobile VR is the use case that could unlock the potential of mobile for hardcore gamers. For once, mobile devices are on par with PCs and consoles in terms of experience. We won't have the same processing. And battery life is a problem. But it is the same user experience. That could be a game changer for mobile gaming.

ARM is the largest manufacturer of architectures used in processors for mobile terminals and for 2017 it certainly has prepared products designed to offer much better performance.
