At the beginning of this week, I told you that Apple initiated a program based on which replace iPhone 6S batteries for free manufactured in a certain period, but which have a certain defect. Specifically, we are talking about those terminals iPhone 6S that close out of nowhere during use when the battery remains with approximately 30% - 40% of energy.
Considering that a few days have passed since the announcement of the program, I asked the people from Noumax under what conditions the iPhone 6S battery can be replaced for free. According to them, the terminal must cumulatively fulfill two conditions to benefit from this free battery replacement.
The first condition is that the respective iPhone 6S terminal is part of a list compiled by the Apple company with units that have batteries with this defect. The second condition is that the terminal shows this problem during a check made in service by the technicians, and if after these checks it is found that the battery can be replaced, the repair is done free of charge.
iPhone 6S - conditions for free battery replacement
According to those from Noumax, the battery is replaced on the spot, if there are batteries in stock, or the next day at the latest, if another battery needs to be ordered from Apple. Regardless of the situation, as long as the two conditions are fulfilled cumulatively, the battery is replaced free of charge, without the terminal being replaced with a new one, so you will only benefit from a repair.
"Batteries are replaced in iPhone 6S if they meet 2 conditions: if the problem manifests itself (if the phone suddenly stops at 30-40%) and if the serial number of the product is in a certain list of affected products. In any case, to check eligibility, customers can send us an email asking about this or pay us a visit at our headquarters. If we find that the defect exists, we replace the battery. Most of the time the repair is done the same day or the next day at the latest because we have new batteries in stock."
This verification and repair procedure is valid at any service authorized by the Apple company for our country. Apple stated that only the iPhone 6S terminals manufactured between September and October 2015 are affected by this problem, and according to those from Noumax, the iPhone 6S Plus does not suffer from it, so it is not part of the program.
