Apple is hiring Here Maps engineers

The Apple company hired no less than 6 Here Maps engineers to improve Apple Maps worldwide, not just in the US and other important countries. Here Maps was bought by a consortium made up of Audi, BMW and Mercedes a few months ago, but those from Apple managed to "steal" several important engineers from them in the last six months.

All these engineers work for Apple in Berlin, where the American company would have opened at least one office and at least to improve Apple Maps. In 2015, Apple was offered to buy HERE Maps, but it refused, so now it only hires the important engineers who contributed to the growth of the service.

Contacted by the press, none of the 6 engineers wanted to reveal what they are working on within Apple, but it is quite clear what they will focus on. The Apple company has been harshly criticized by many users because of the shortcomings of Apple Maps, so their hiring probably has the role of solving some of these problems.

A few months ago it was rumored that Apple would have created the office in Berlin to develop the autonomous and intelligent car, but now it seems that actually the engineers will focus on something else. How Apple will manage to improve Apple Maps with the help of these engineers is hard to say, but their employment will surely bring some benefits in the future.
