iPhone 8 – the missing function because of Apple

iPhone 8 it will be launched without a key function during this year due to the lawsuits that Apple currently has open with those from Qualcomm. We are talking about a function that has already been implemented in the Samsung Galaxy S8, but which will not arrive in the iPhone 8 because Apple has bigger plans with Qualcomm than with customers.

According to American analysts, the iPhone 8 will not have a modem that will allow it to surf the Internet at gigabit speeds, as is the case with the Samsung Galaxy S8. Such a modem would have allowed the iPhone 8 terminal to surf the Internet at speeds up to 5 times higher than the current ones, if there were gigabit networks that would provide support.

Qualcomm has a gigabit modem that would be perfect for the iPhone 8, but recent processes and the use of Intel modems will prevent its implementation. Apple cannot offer the latest generation Qualcomm modems in the iPhone 8 when it has open lawsuits with this company, but also since Intel modems do not have gigabit technology available.

If gigabit networks were available in many countries around the world, we could say that Apple would be in a delicate situation with the iPhone 8, but the reality is completely different. The gigabit networks exist only in Asia, and until we have enough in Europe or on the American continent, we will probably reach the iPhone 10, so Apple's decision for the iPhone 8 is quite normal.

"Until Intel is able to offer its chips with matching features, Apple won't enable some of the capabilities of the phones running with Qualcomm modems, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the plan isn't public."
