Amazon will copy the HomePod design

Amazon, one of the first companies to launch smart speakers for customers, and according to some information that appeared today, it intends to copy some of the novelties HomePod. You probably already know that HomePod is the smart speaker presented by the Apple company in June, it will only be put on sale towards the end of the year, when it will be officially ready for launch.

Amazon has noticed how popular HomePod is and because Echo hasn't had a major update for about 2 years, it decided to look more closely at what Apple offers. Amazon will launch this year a new version of Echo that will contain a majority of improvements, some of them taken from the HomePod smart speaker, with which Apple hopes to conquer the market.

Amazon will launch a smaller and thinner Echo than the original version, the product will have more rounded edges and a textile covering it, instead of the current plastic. Amazon also adds some tweeters to the Echo and a woofer to improve the sound, the HomePod having no less than 7 tweeters to provide an exceptional sound, according to those who have listened to it.

Amazon also wants to improve the microphones used in the Echo to understand users more easily, even though the current model has 7 microphones, with one more than the HomePod. What kind of improvements Amazon wants to make here is not known yet, but it could remove some microphones and improve the software to better understand everything that users say.

"Amazon is working on a new Echo that will improve on the first speaker in practically every way. The new Echo will be both shorter and slimmer than the original. Amazon is also softening its design with rounded edges and a cloth-like covering, rather than the current Echo's plastic shell and flat ends."

Amazon has not revealed any possible release date for the new version of Echo, but the product could appear on the market this year.
