More precisely, we are talking about calls with unknown numbers from abroad that are used to call Romanians as well, they are made by people who call you using toll lines, and hundreds of Romanians would have been tricked in this way.
The unknown numbers have the prefixes of some foreign countries, and they come from countries such as Pakistan (+92), Senegal (+221), Mali (+223), Niger (+227), or even Russia, where the prefix is +7. Of course, unknown numbers from South Africa or Serbia are also used to trick Romanians, hackers calling people, and when they answer, they hang up and wait to be called, at that moment the caller is charged for calling that phone number.

The method of tapping with unknown numbers from abroad works, and even quite well, because many Romanians complained about the fact that they were charged quite large amounts after calling these phone numbers. Of course, the amounts will have to be paid after calling unknown numbers, and that's because mobile phone operators don't want to cover the costs of people's ignorance, the costs being several tens of euros per minute, in some cases.

We recommend that landline or mobile phone users do not call back unknown destinations with which they do not particularly interact. It tries to obtain information related to personal data: name, date of birth, information related to cards. Our recommendation to customers is not to provide such information.”
Every time you are called by unknown numbers, especially whose area code you do not know, avoid answering, but answering will not charge you, but calling back will generate an immediate charge. Moreover, if you answer out of curiosity, and the people behind these unknown numbers ask you for personal information, immediately hang up the call and block the phone number to stop being called, because you might lose a lot of money from because of hackers.
