Digi Mobil. 2018 was a very good year for the mobile operator from Romania, recently the Digi group, which owns RCS & RDS, announcing the impressive financial results recorded during the past year. As you have probably already seen, Digi Mobil has reached 6.9 revenue-generating units, the name of those from RCS & RDS for customers, who are not unique, but represent a combination of people with one or more services.
Digi Mobil. Practically, the telecom operator announced 6.9 million revenue-generating units on the mobile and fixed telecommunications side, but in reality the number is lower, because although separate reporting is done on mobile and fixed telephony, some customers have both services. In this idea, Digi Mobil could even have less than 6 million unique customers of mobile or landline services, but because these data are not reported, it is difficult to calculate what the reality is.
Digi Mobil has a large increase in customer base, price adjustments of RCS & RDS
Digi Mobil. From the record for the increase in the number of clients, we now move on to the announcement made at the beginning of this year regarding price increases for the services offered by the entire RCS & RDS group. The announcement from that time said that these price increases apply to all new customers from January, and for old ones from March 1, the group making a new price list both for the services offered by Digi Mobil and by the main group.
In order to respond to the need for continuous development and to increase the quality of the services we provide you, as well as to react to the continuous increase in the costs we bear, we are forced to adjust the rates. Thus, from March 1, 2019, the prices of certain services provided by Digi | RCS & RDS will change. Even after these changes, the prices of Digi services will continue to be very attractive.
Digi Mobil. The reason why RCS & RDS applied these price "adjustments" is based on GEO 114/2018, which brought a new turnover tax for the company, i.e. tens of millions of euros that will reach the state because of it . Although there are discussions to modify or extend GEO 114 2018, for now no clear decision has been made in this regard, but it is unlikely that Digi Mobil will have price increases if GEO is not modified or withdrawn.
Digi Mobil. In Romania, the operator occupies the 4th place on the telecom market, and at the moment it has a series of interesting discounts that you can take advantage of, while they are still valid.
