Vodafone: The GREAT announcement that makes Romanian Customers HAPPY

Vodafone has customers from all over Romania happy with great news, and this is because we are talking about something that upset many of them, here are the details.

vodafone process

Vodafone is one of the largest telecommunications groups in Romania, but of course that does not mean that it always has the best intentions towards the clients it serves. Last spring, Vodafone increased the prices of the subscriptions that their customers have in Romania, giving them the opportunity to unilaterally terminate the contracts, and although they did not officially say so, GEO 114/2018 was the reason for the increase.

Vodafone however, he did not manage to do exactly what he proposed, and this is because ANPC reported it, and the authorities blocked the price increase, also applying a fine of 70.000 LEI for the decision taken by the operator. Of course, Vodafone challenged the decision of the ANPC in court, and in November of last year it managed to win the right to increase the prices, but also the cancellation of the fine that was applied by the ANPC, but the decision is not final .

Vodafone: The GREAT announcement that makes Romanian Customers HAPPY

Vodafone does not get rid of ANPC that easily, and this is because the authorities have appealed the decision from November, so the process will continue its normal course in order to reach a final decision. This is not certain for now, but if Vodafone won once in court, it is not excluded to do so in the final phase of the process, although this is not 100% guaranteed by anyone, so anything could happen in the meantime .

Vodafone is fighting with ANPC in court, while Telekom increased the prices for customers in Romania three times, and ANPC did not take any similar decision in the case of every action of this kind. Vodafone still remains in the fight with ANPC because it wants to increase subscription prices, especially since it recently bought UPC and has to amortize the costs of this acquisition, bringing several million customers to its network in 2019.

Vodafone it has not announced any price increase since the spring of last year, and most likely it will not do so again, perhaps adopting Orange's strategy of changing the entire offer of subscriptions with more expensive ones.
