ALT FESTIVAL brings technology and innovations to Brasov

  ALT FESTIVAL is a technology festival organized in Brasov between November 21 and November 23, bringing entrepreneurs, investors, developers, programmers, inventors, teachers, students and innovation or technology enthusiasts to the city below Tampa. Organized by the Cluster for Innovation and Technology from Brasov, the festival aims to support innovations and the people behind innovative products. The festival will take place at the Institute for Research, Development and Innovation of High Tech Products in Brasov, where the participants will explore the concept of the Internet of Things through conferences, workshops and product presentations.

  Although it is in its first edition, ALT FESTIVAL has the support of the most important foreign or Romanian companies that have research and development laboratories, so you will see the best that the enlightened minds of Romania have to offer. I'M COMING TO BRASOV

ALT FESTIVAL will transform you for a weekend Brasov a meeting place for entrepreneurs, investors, developers, programmers, inventors, creatives, teachers and students from Romania, passionate about INNOVATION and TECHNOLOGY. The technology festival is organized by the Innovation and Technology Cluster - ALT BRAŞOV. It was established in 2013 and aims to develop, promote and support innovative industries by appealing to creativity and applying new technologies. Through their prism and the initiative of those involved, the results will bring added value and generate economic development for Braşov, the Central Region and Romania. All this can be achieved by supporting entrepreneurial initiatives, attracting investments, encouraging innovation and connecting global markets.

In 21-23 November, at the High Tech Products Innovation Research Development Institute, participants will explore the concept of Internet of Things (IoT) through conferences, workshops, exhibition, drone demos, mobile applications and networking sessions.

The event will address 3 themes: local innovation which aims to present innovative products and services developed by local companies on international markets; Internet of Things – the concept based on the interconnection of objects using the existing communication infrastructure in a world based on the Internet; technology culture - section of the event involving the spread of technology in everyday life.

Now in its first edition, ALT Festival aims to support entrepreneurial initiatives, increase interest in the technical field, introduce agility in IT, technologies based on raspberry pi, eye tracking, virtual reality and online laboratories. The event is aimed at high school students interested in new technological trends, students who have knowledge in the field and want to apply it, and developers who want to know more about the Internet of Things, code in a hackathon and connect with other developers who are passionate about IoT.

The festival brings together members - renowned companies from the IT&C industry (Siemens, Pentalog Romania, Bluemind Software, BIT Software, Flashnet, Iquest Technologies, Rosoftlab, Digesis, etc.), consulting companies (Iceberg, Firestarter), the Metropolitan Agency for Development Durabila Brașov, Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Transilvania University.

This initiative is developed within the "START FOR INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY" project, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the State Budget, Sectoral Operational Program "Increasing Economic Competitiveness", Priority axis 1 "An innovative and eco-efficient production system", Major field of intervention D1.3 "Sustainable development of entrepreneurship" Operation 1.3.3. "Support for the integration of enterprises in supplier chains or clusters", based on financing contract no. 1CLT/800023/19.05.2014 concluded with the Ministry of European Funds, as the Management Authority for the Sectoral Operational Program "Increasing Economic Competitiveness". The general objective of the project is to increase the national competitiveness of the emerging IT&C industry in Braşov/Central Region.
