Samsung Galaxy S9 Shows the PROBLEM of Apple's Greed with iPhone X

The Samsung Galaxy S9 shows us how big Apple's problem with greed is starting to become, with the iPhone X offering a truncated user experience because of it.

Samsung Galaxy S9 is perhaps the best premium Android phone at the moment, the Korean company using state-of-the-art components to provide a very good user experience for customers. iPhone X it is the company's most expensive phone Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), and theoretically it should have the latest generation components, but greed and disputes brought from Apple something that is inferior to the Samsung Galaxy S9 in terms of a major function.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 was recently tested in the USA and proved to have 4G LTE speeds much better than those of the iPhone X, the differences being huge in favor of the Samsung phone. We are talking about speeds of up to 537 Mbps achieved by the Samsung Galaxy S9 in tests on the AT&T network, while the iPhone X only managed to achieve speeds of up to 205 Mbps, only half of what the Samsung phone can do.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 uses Qualcomm modems for GSM functionality, while the iPhone X uses inferior, cheaper Intel modems, but the reason for their use is the war between Apple and Qualcomm. Although the user experience of the iPhone X is seriously affected by the use of these Qualcomm modems, and the 4G speeds and the signal are much worse than in the case of Intel modems, the Apple company does not care, and thus the Samsung Galaxy S9 is superior to the iPhone X.

Samsung Galaxy S9 not only obtained maximum 4G LTE browsing speeds higher than iPhone X, but also average speeds much higher than the maximum obtained by Apple's phone. To be completely honest, the difference is huge between the two phone models, but the Samsung Galaxy S9 comes from a category of phones known for the very good GSM performance they offer to customers around the world.

"With iPhones traditionally strong at AT&T, we compared an unlocked (Qualcomm model) iPhone X in the same locations. We got 92Mbps, 93Mbps, 201Mbps, and 173Mbps downloads, respectively. The fastest single result was 205Mbps. That's all pretty fast, but it's a fraction of the speed and capacity LAA brings. So as these sites build out, iPhones without LAA may appear to choke up on the network more quickly than LAA-compatible phones.”

The Samsung Galaxy S9 has a better GSM signal and performance than the iPhone X, but its predecessors also surpassed the iPhones in this segment, and since the switch to Intel modems, things have gotten worse. Unfortunately, the Samsung Galaxy S9 only presents in a clearer context the major differences that exist between what Apple considers to be a premium phone and what Samsung currently offers.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 is cheaper than the iPhone X because Samsung is not driven by the same greed as those from Cupertino, and this is visible in almost everything that both companies do. I would like the iPhone X to have the same GSM performance as the Samsung Galaxy S9, but unfortunately, Apple will not go back to using Qualcomm modems on a large scale, so we have to get used to it.
