Valeriu Gheorghita: Obligation Imposed in Romania in Wave 4

Valeriu Gheorghita talks about a very important obligation in Romania in full wave 4 of the coronavirus, one for the millions of Romanians throughout the country, and this is because it is necessary for the world to protect itself against a possible infection with the Delta variant during this period.

Valeriu Gheorghita has been talking for some time about the individual responsibility of people who should think very seriously about protecting themselves during this period, but also about protecting those around them in order not to risk infecting them with the Delta variant.

"I would emphasize exactly what the doctor, Adriana Pistol, said very well, namely that we are actually talking about a package of measures that reduce, on the one hand, the risk of getting infected and, on the other hand, the risk to transmit the infection to those around. And this package of measures is composed of vaccination which, individually, reduces my risk of getting a serious form of the disease, but, implicitly, the risk of passing on the infection is also reduced.

Even if this risk is not greatly reduced, it is reduced and, in addition, the risk of getting infected is also reduced. Through vaccination we have important benefits individually, but also towards those around us and, respecting the other preventive measures, - mask, hygiene, physical distancing - we ensure the best possible conditions to limit the spread of the disease. I would add one more aspect, namely individual responsibility.

If we are symptomatic during this period, we must stay at home and get tested, if we have a symptomatic child we will not send him to school, we will not think for the first time that he had a common cold, no, we will think that, in this context of exponential, accelerated community transmission, the first possibility is to actually be Covid and facilitate the spread of the disease in this way. We must encourage people, those around us and those in the family, those close to us to respect the preventive measures. We have no other way at this point.”
