Foxconn is closing in on the acquisition of Sharp

A few weeks ago I told you that Foxconn is interested in acquiring Sharp and that he made a much better offer than a consortium made up of set companies, the Sharp representatives agreeing with the amount proposed by those from Foxcnn.

Now we learn that the negotiations between Foxconn and Sharp are so advanced that the representatives of the two companies are close to reaching an agreement on all the conditions of a sale, so it probably won't be long before the sale becomes official.

The CEO of Foxconn is the one who made the announcement regarding the advanced stage of the negotiations, he met with representatives of Sharp the other day, the company he leads being willing to pay 5.6 billion dollars to buy Sharp at the moment.

The Japanese government would not have wanted Sharp to be bought by Foxconn, but its offer is not as attractive as the one made by the Taiwanese, and if things continue at the same pace, then it will not be long until Foxconn will officially announce the purchase.

Taiwan's Foxconn is aiming to finalize a deal to acquire Japan's Sharp Corp by the end of the month, after the two firms reached a consensus on most points, Foxconn Chief Executive Officer Terry Gou said. Foxconn, known formally as Hon Hai Precision Industry Co, has been given preferred negotiating rights and most remaining issues to be resolved were legal and regulatory.

Both Foxconn and Sharp are important partners of Apple, billions of dollars being earned annually by both companies from Cupertino as part of the production of iDevices.
