SanDisk has launched its fastest 256GB microSD card

SanDisk announced a new microSD card yesterday, with 256 GB of storage space and being the fastest card of its kind released on the market so far, allowing data transfer at speeds of up to 100 MB /s for writing and 90MB/s for reading.

Basically, users can transfer a 1GB movie from their computer to this new SanDisk microSD card in about 10-15 seconds, depending on the type of USB connection that exists between the two devices, so we're talking about the ability to transfer extremely quickly large files to be transported anywhere.

Considering the performance of this microSD card, those from SanDisk claim that users can also use this product with various action cameras, or even drones, as it is capable of recording up to 14 hours of 4K content at the time of use, so theoretically anyone can can use it for any kind of events.

The SanDisk Extreme microSDXC UHS-I 256GB card isn't the only one with extremely good performance, Samsung having a simian of the same capacity, the differences between them being very small, except for the price, those from Western Digital, the company that owns SanDisk, asking 50 dollars less for their product.

Western Digital today introduced a new suite of 256 gigabyte (GB) microSD™ cards, which includes the new 256GB SanDisk Extreme®microSDXC™ UHS-I card – the fastest microSD card in its class. The new suite of cards also includes 256GB SanDisk Ultra® microSDXC UHS-I card, Premium Edition, the first 256GB card optimized for mainstream consumers. The new additions deliver leading speed and capacity in a fingernail-sized card, giving smartphone, drone and action camera users the performance and capacity they need to capture professional-grade videos and photos without worrying about running out of space on their device.

The card is waterproof, resistant to heat, dust, shocks or even X-rays, so we are talking about a storage medium that can be used in almost any kind of conditions, these characteristics being essential for those who will use it with action cameras .

Western Digital's new product will be released in two versions, a premium version that will cost $150 and will have slightly lower performance, plus an Extreme version that will cost $200 and will have the performance mentioned above.
