Nokia hired the former president of Samsung

Nokia, or what is left of the famous Finnish company, announced today that it hired Gregory Lee, the former president of Samsung North America. Gregory Lee will become the president of Nokia Technologies, one of the divisions of the Nokia company that is active at the moment, he has a vast experience in the mobile field, but not only there.

Gregory Lee spent no less than 13 years in the Samsung company, and before leaving for Nokia, he supervised all Korean businesses for the entire North American continent. Here we are talking about mobile phones, tablets, televisions, washing machines and all other products that Samsung still sells there, so it comes to Nokia with a lot of knowledge in almost every field.

In the announcement regarding the appointment of the former president of Samsung to the management team of Nokia Technologies, those from Nokia also provided some details regarding the development plans. More precisely, Nokia wants to develop technologies for virtual reality, for monitoring people's health, but also others related to the digital world in which we all live.

Nokia president Samsung gregory leeApart from Samsung, Gregory Lee was part of Johnson & Johnson, Kellog's, or Procter & Gamble, so he could help Nokia from many points of view. Unlike companies that sell shampoo, shower gel, or soap, at Nokia, Gregory Lee will have to guide employees in developing competitive products for the technological world at a time when Nokia is "on the wave".

All the recent announcements regarding Nokia 9 have brought the Finnish brand back into the center of global attention, although those from HMD Global will launch mobile phones under this brand. Nokia no longer produces mobile phones and will not do so soon, the licenses for their sale being sold to HMD Global, so they will take care of this field.

"We have chosen the right leader to take Nokia Technologies forward at a time of renewed excitement about the Nokia brand around the world. Gregory's passion for innovation and operational excellence, along with his proven ability to build and lead global consumer technology businesses make him well suited to advance Nokia's efforts in virtual reality, digital health and beyond."

To be completely honest, I'm glad to see that Nokia is hiring competent people to run a very important division that will compete with Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),, Facebook, Google, Microsoft and more. The problem is that Gregory Lee does not bring to Nokia the Samsung mentality of copying everything that is plugged in, but doing it in a bad way.

Before concluding, it is worth mentioning that Nokia has recently licensed to Apple many technologies necessary for the operation of the iPhone and iPad. What do you think about what Nokia wants to do?
