Samsung Galaxy S9. The processor Compared to the iPhone X

The Samsung Galaxy S9 has the processor compared to the iPhone X to show us if Samsung will be able to compete with Apple's product next year.

Samsung Galaxy S9 this year it will come with two new chips prepared by the Samsung and Qualcomm companies, they being thought to "turn on" any kind of fan of the series. The Samsung Galaxy S9 will be launched next year with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chip and an Exynos 9810 chip, the second one being manufactured by Samsung and already in production at some Korean factories.

Yesterday, the specifications for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chip that will be offered in the Samsung Galaxy S9 were announced, and so we can make a comparison with the new A11 Bionic chip from iPhone X. Below you have a graph in which this comparison is made, and the Samsung Galaxy S9 has two processors compared to the iPhone X's one, but we also see a comparison with the Kirin 970 from Huawei products.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 will have processors with 8 integrated cores, regardless of the chip used, but the architecture of the cores will be different depending on the manufacturer used. That will generate differences in terms of the processing power that the Samsung Galaxy S9 will offer for customers, but they will be small because Samsung will limit one of the chips so that its customers do not have very different experiences.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 will also have different video cards depending on the chips, the Snapdragon 845 being offered with an Adreno 630 card, the Exynos will have a Mali-G72. The same differences will be for the modems, one from Qualcomm and another, probably from Samsung, but it is not known here how big the difference in performance will be for the Korean Samsung Galaxy S9 models.

Both chips that will be integrated in the Samsung Galaxy S9 will be produced using a 10nm manufacturing process, just like the A11 Bionic, but it's hard to say what performance they will have. It is very difficult to say if the Samsung Galaxy S9 will be as powerful as the iPhone X in terms of performance, and I don't think that the Apple phone will be equaled in synthetic tests, but with more RAM in the Samsung Galaxy S9 it will be surpassed in rest

The Samsung Galaxy S9 will have impressive specifications, with a processor that has 2 more cores than the iPhone X, with more RAM and a new co-processor for artificial intelligence. No one knows how much these will matter in the end, but the Samsung Galaxy S9 needs excellent performance to be a serious competitor for the iPhone X next spring.
